Young Houstonian Dies in Motorcycle Crash

A 22-year old Houstonian died in a motorcycle accident Saturday.

About the Accident

 

The 22-year old young man was riding at around 4 p.m. on the northbound ramp on Highway 225 near the South Loop in southeast Houston. According to the Houston Police Department, the young man hit the right side wall on the ramp after he lost control of his bike due to traveling at a high rate of speed. Thereafter, he fell over the railing, and died at the scene of the accident, according to authorities. Traffic traveling eastbound was stalled for approximately two hours until the scene was cleared.

West Valley Motorcyclist Dies in Accident

A 45-year old man died in a motorcycle accident near Glendale, Arizona.

About the Accident

 

According to Chris Hegstrom, a Maricopa County Sheriff's spokesman said the motorcycle crash occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. near “Dysart and Bethany Home roads.”

Authorities reported that when the 45-year-old motorcyclist was traveling south on Dysart Road, he lost control of his motorcycle after he clipped the back of a car, which caused him to be thrown from his bike. The motorcycle caught fire thereafter.

The motorcyclist later died from his injuries at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix.

Fatal Watauga County Motorcycle Accident

A 51-year old man died in a motorcycle crash on Sunday afternoon while riding his motorcycle near Zionville.

About the Accident

 

Elisabeth Arriero of the Charlotte Observer reports that Christopher Thomas Higgins lost control of his vehicle after trying to pass another motorcycle rider on the highway. According to Highway Patrol spokesman M. Rodriguez, Higgins traveled off the left side of the road, struck a ditch, and was thrown from the motorcycle.

Higgins died around 5 p.m. from the crash.

31-Year Old Connecticut Man Die in Motorcycle Crash

A 31-year old Hamden man died in a motorcycle crash in New Haven, Connecticut on Monday, January 7 at approximately 2:00 p.m.

About the Accident

 

Officials reported that Howard Lee Jones II was riding his 2010 Kawasaki ZX1000 when he collided with an SUV, and was thrown off of his motorcycle. Jones was wearing a helmet, gloves, and other appropriate riding gear, but according to WTNH, Jones underwent traumatic cardiac at the scene, and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The SUV, a 2003 Volvo XC90, was driven by a 34-year-old woman identified as Adrienne De Barros. However, authorities have not determined who was at fault, and the accident is still under investigation.
