Father and Son Identified in Fatal Motorcycle Crash



The father and his 13-year old son that died on New Years day in a motorcycle accident were identified by Austin Police.

The Victims

 

The two victims of a tragic motorcycle accident New Years day have been identified by the Austin Police Department to be Rodney A. Carr Sr. 31-years old and his son who was 13-years old at the time of the crash.
Police say Carr Sr. did not have a license, and the motorcycle was not registered to him. Reports state that the Honda motorcycle lost control and slid into a 2012 Nissan sedan. Both victims suffered head injuries, and were not wearing helmets.

Texas Motorcycle Helmet Laws

 

The State of Texas requires anyone below the age of 21 to be wearing a helmet at all times when on a motorcycle. Furthermore, children below the age of 5 are not allowed to ride on a motorcycle.
